New Recording - July 20, 2009

Grace Nikae: Chopin | Schumann: SonatasGrace’s new recording, “Chopin | Schumann: Sonatas”, will be released on July 20. The new album explores two large-scale works for the piano through the exciting pairing of Robert Schumann’s Sonata in G minor, Op. 22 with Frédéric Chopin’s Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58 and also marks the beginning of a new collaboration with UNICEF Spain.

A potion of all proceeds from this recording will directly benefit UNICEF Spain and the organization’s extensive programs on behalf of children worldwide.

Music of Mozart, Debussy, Chopin and Ludwig

May 20 RecitalGrace will be giving the European premiere of American composer David Ludwig’s Three Portraits of Isabella in Madrid on May 20, 2009. Written in 2004 after a residency at the Isabella Gardner Art Museum in Boston, Ludwig conceived the work based on paintings of Isabella Stewart Gardner:

“Each movement of this work was inspired by paintings of the patron, herself; the piece is a collection of portraits of portraits.”

The recital will also include Mozart’s Fantasy in C minor, Debussy’s L’Isle Joyeuse, and Chopin’s Sonata No. 3.  Hope to see you there!
